2021 IASNR Virtual Conference
Our 2021 Virtual IASNR Conference (formerly ISSRM) starts on June 20 and runs through June 24. Our Conference Theme is “Building a Global Network for Natural Resource Social Science.” We have a fantastic array of speakers, sessions and panels prepared. More than 340 people have registered to date, so it promises to be lively week! It’s not too late to sign up to join us. For those already registered, we look forward to connecting with you. Please join us at several special events, including the new members meeting (June 20) and student form (June 20) the IASNR annual membership meeting (Two options: June 21 or June 24), student virtual Quiz Bowl, and other special panels sponsored by our IASNR committees. Events are shown on the website and we urge you to download the WHOVA app to navigate the week and chat with others. See you there!
2022 IASNR Conference – San José, Costa Rica
Planning is underway for the 2022 IASNR Conference. The conference theme is “Sustainable Development in Practice: Integrating People, Place, and Policy.” This conference will be hosted by the University of Costa Rica (UCR), Texas A&M University, and the University of Georgia and will take place at the UCR campus in San José, Costa Rica.
This will be the first IASNR Conference in Latin America and will provide opportunities to expand IASNR’s global network and to showcase the accomplishments of a country on the leading edge of socially responsible conservation and sustainable development.
An IASNR delegation visited San José in January to tour UCR’s impressive conference facilities and begin the process of logistics planning. Please contact Dr. David Matarrita-Cascante, Dr. Jesse Abrams, or Jessica Hill for more information.

Tentative Dates: June 11-15, 2023
The 2023 IASNR Conference is scheduled in Portland, Maine, USA at the Holiday Inn By The Bay hotel in downtown Portland.

Call for Proposals to Host
The IASNR Conference 2024 and Beyond
The IASNR Conference Support Committee seeks host institutions for 2024 and beyond.
Interested parties should submit a Letter of Intent by August 15, 2021. If selected for full proposal by the Conference Support Committee, full proposals are due October 15, 2021.
