As part of IASNR’s strategic planning, we are embarking on a process of seeing and understanding the current health of our organization through completing an Organizational Health Assessment (OHA). This survey, developed by nRhythm, is designed to help us better understand and enhance the health and resilience of our organization. The OHA adopts a novel perspective by considering our organization as a living system — a dynamic and interconnected environment. This assessment will offer a comprehensive overview of IASNR focusing on our ability to regenerate and adapt. By examining our organizational structure, health, and openness to change, the OHA will help us pinpoint key areas of focus for our future strategic plan and to create more resilience across the organization. Participation in the OHA is your opportunity to have a voice in the future of our organization!
This is not a scientific study. Nevertheless, we are taking steps to protect privacy and confidentiality of respondents. Survey data will be stored and analyzed by nRhythm in accordance with their privacy and data management policies (see below). Aggregated survey data will be used to guide the co-creation of the IASNR Strategic Plan.
More information on the OHA
The OHA is a participatory subjective assessment. The main goal of the OHA is to create a collective understanding among all participants in order to catalyze conversation about the future design and management of the organization. The OHA is not a formal research tool and the results are not meant for comparative statistical analysis or benchmarking to other organization or sector standards. The results of the OHA will be used to guide the strategic planning retreat in March 2025, and will be shared as part of the co-design workshops open to all members at the IASNR Conference in June.
The OHA consists of 38 yes/no questions scored across the following categories based upon nRhythm’s Framework for Organizational Design:
- Meta-categories: Design, Health, & Receptivity.
- Sub-categories: Context, Structures – Decision-making, Structures – Communication, Structures – Network Connections, Work, Energy, and Information.
We use yes/no questions to align with previously tested and validated approaches regarding the use of this health assessment tool in organizational development contexts. We appreciate that these questions could also be responded to using Likert scales, but for the purpose of this assessment, we have chosen yes/no response categories.
The survey also contains five open-ended questions and some general demographics questions for our records.
The assessment asks for your name and email address as unique identifiers in the database for your response but all responses are anonymized and strictly confidential and results are only made available in aggregate, so we encourage you to respond honestly.
Participation is completely voluntary, and you may choose to opt out at any time after starting the survey. While you may not be 100% sure about every answer, we encourage you to respond based on your initial gut instinct.
Please allow up to 20 minutes to complete the assessment in one sitting. Please submit your survey prior to Friday, February 14, 2025.
It is best to answer this survey on your computer, and not on your phone.
Thank you in advance for your participation! Please do not hesitate to reach out to us or to nRhythm ([email protected]) if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you in advance for your participation! A link to the survey has been sent to all past and current IASNR members. If you are unable to find the email with the survey link, please contact [email protected].
