Dr. Jesse Abrams at the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources / Savannah River Ecology Laboratory, University of Georgia, is recruiting graduate students (master’s and/or doctoral) with interests in wildfire risk, governance, and adaptation in the United States. Funded assistantships are available to pursue research on the social and political dimensions of wildfire and fire risk reduction projects nationwide, ranging from the southeastern coastal plain to the western U.S. Prospective students should have prior coursework and experience in issues such as natural resource governance, wildfire, social-ecological systems, and quantitative or qualitative research methods in social science. The program could begin in summer or fall 2025.
